Scandi Tapered-Leg Dining Table — The Edgeform

A refined, modern Scandi dining table — elevated with our signature edge-grain plywood top.
The Edgeform is all about clean lines, slim proportions and a calm, contemporary feel. Handmade to order here in Cornwall, it’s the lighter, more minimal sibling within the Scandi collection.

Slim, elegant Scandi tapered legs

The 70mm square tapered legs give this table a beautifully balanced silhouette — slim enough to feel light, but still incredibly stable. It’s ideal for modern living spaces, apartment kitchens or airy open-plan rooms.

Signature edge-grain plywood tabletop

Choose your top in:

• Birch ply — pale, clean and minimal

• Marine ply — warm layered grain

• Poplar ply — soft, subtle tones

Every top is made from individually bonded strips to create the full edge-grain effect — a detail that makes all Design In The Sand pieces instantly recognisable.

Edges can be finished square, or with a 15-degree bevel for an even lighter, crafted feel.

Colour & finish options

The legs can be:

• Left natural and protected with a durable water-based varnish

• Painted in any colour you like (I often use Farrow & Ball, but can match any brand)

The tabletop is sealed with Polyvine water-based varnish (Eggshell or Dead Flat).
Low-tox, durable, microplastic-free and easy to refresh over the years.

Each table is built by hand here in Cornwall — no mass-production, no shortcuts, just thoughtful joinery and quality materials.
