The Sand is our classic farmhouse dining table (with a twist), defined by beautifully hand-turned legs with crisp, elegant detailing. Each one is made to order here in Cornwall, using our signature edge-grain plywood tops and traditional craftsmanship.

Whether you’re creating a warm family kitchen or a relaxed modern space with character, The Sand brings a timeless farmhouse feel without ever feeling heavy or old-fashioned.

The legs are turned by hand to give sharp definition and a sculpted, traditional profile. They’re made from high-grade timber for strength and stability, and can be painted in any colour you love — from soft heritage tones to bold contemporary shades.

The 70mm square tapered legs give this handmade dining table a beautifully balanced silhouette, slim enough to feel light in an apartment kitchen, yet incredibly stable for a busy family home.

The Maker’s Design Note:

"I designed the Edgeform to be a sleeker version of a square-legged table, whilst still offering the square look of most solid wood tables. By using a 70mm taper, we keep the silhouette light and airy, and because it's engineered from high-grade ply, it has the structural strength of a much heavier piece. It’s minimalism without the compromise."

Sustainable materials & custom finishes

Our bespoke ply tables are crafted from high-quality, sustainably sourced timber. We created edge-grain plywood for its unique look and superior durability and resistance to warping compared to traditional wooden dining room tables.

Choose the character of your tabletop to match your interior:

  • Birch Ply: Clean lines and pale tones for the quintessential Scandi style dining table.
  • Marine / Meranti Ply: A striking reddish-brown colour for the dark wood dining table that makes a bold, architectural statement.
  • Poplar Ply: A softer, warmer wood tone for a cozy, inviting kitchen feel.

The legs are painted in any brand and colour you like. The tabletop is sealed using Polyvine water-based varnish, low-toxic, microplastic-free, easy to clean, and easy to refresh. The Meranti/Marine ply is finished with a food-safe oil, which brings out the very best colour.  

Customise your Scandinavian dining table

We believe a custom dining table should be as unique as your floor plan. Whether you need a compact 4-seater kitchen table for a small nook or a long, bespoke dining room table for family gatherings, we can adjust the length, width, and height, and corner rounding to your exact specifications. We can make any other customisations you would like, such as Frame depth and corner rounding. We use premium paints from Little Green and Farrow & Ball. We'll be in touch to discuss your table colour and send samples.

Choosing the right size for your space

Not sure which size fits your space? We design the Edgeform to be as functional as it is beautiful. Use our guide below to determine your ideal bespoke dining table length:

  • 120cm - 130cm: Perfect as a compact Scandi 4-seater dining table. Best for small kitchens or apartment living.
  • 150cm - 160cm: A comfortable Scandi 4-6 seater dining table. Provides extra elbow room for four.
  • 180cm - 200cm+: Our signature 6+ seater Scandinavian dining table. Ideal for large open-plan rooms and family gatherings.

Note: The Edgeform features a 70mm leg profile, and the top overhangs by 60mm; therefore, the space between the legs is 260mm less than the table's length. We recommend measuring your chair widths to ensure they tuck neatly between the legs. Please contact Tim if you would like us to check this with you.

Before ordering, we are always very happy to talk it through and discuss any specific needs and preferences 

  1. Place your order: Select your base size to start.
  2. Personal consultation: Once ordered, we will ’d be happy to contact you to discuss the finer details, from the exact paint code to the perfect corner rounding.
  3. Handmade for you: Your table is built from scratch in Cornwall.
  4. Specialist delivery: Delivered safely to your home with care. (Please let us know of any access constraints, like narrow hallways or stairs.
